Josiah was the son of John Bishop and Elizabeth (Keen) Bishop. He was born 16 May 1714 in Pembroke, Massachusetts, where he married Sarah Crooker on 16 December 1736. He passed away in Pembroke about 1749.
Probate
Josiah died intestate and on 3 April 1749, Sarah was granted the administration of his estate.[1]
His inventory was taken on 7 April 1749 in Pembroke.[2]
His widow Sarah, now Sarah Bonney presented an account of his estate.[3]
In 1757, his estate was divided between the heirs, his widow, Sarah Bonney, Joshua Bishop (eldest and only son), Caturah Bonney, wife of James Bonney, Sarah Bishop, Mary Bishop.[4] (NOTE: The town clerk records his name as Joseph in this record.)
