Biography

Edward Brereton was born in England, pre 1534, the son of William Brereton and Anne Booth

Married Edith Birch, daughter of William Birch of Birch Hall , Rusholme, Lancashire, England and around 1548 moved to Ireland. ^[1] and in 1563 he was granted Loughteeog, nr Timogue, Queen's Co. which was burnt by insurgents in July 1569. He petitioned Privy Council in Dec 1573 for payment for two years of entertainment as Provost Marshal of Connaught. ^[2]

1599 he died, buried 18 September 1599 at Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin, County Dublin ^[3]
