[Note: RE: Children - baptisms recorded at Ipswich and deaths at Ipswich only identify the father as Nathaniel, (except Nathaniel son of Nathaniel and Elizabeth). Ephraim and Esther, baptized at Wenham, confirm mother as Esther. The other children listed are assumed to be the children of Nathaniel and his wives and are placed here according to the marriage and death dates of the mothers. Several are mentioned/confirmed in his will. Others likely died young.]

[Note: See Ipswich VR: An Abigail Dane married Benjamin Knowlton Jr., she died May 20, 1790, age 55; an Esther Dane married Samuel Knowlton Jr., and died Nov. 11, 1792, age 55, making them likely the daughters of Esther and Nathaniel Dane]
