Esther Downing, the daughter of Daniel Downing and Hannah Adams, was born on June 22, 1773 in Canterbury, Windham, Connecticut.

Esther marries to Asa Stevens in about 1791, assuming in Connecticut. Asa was born on January 1, 1768 in Canterbury, Windham, Connecticut. Asa is the son of Asa Stevens and Sarah Adams.

Esther dies March 3, 1848, Asa dies December 11, 1846, both buried in Scottsville, Wyoming, Pennsylvania, United States.
