Bertha was the daughter of Matthew G. Ellison and Effie Blanche Lauderdale. In 1904 Bertha married Dexter Jonathan Hill in Bettina, Greer, Oklahoma. He was the son of James Washington Hill and Aura Almeda Riggs.
Bertha and Dexter Hill had three children: Twin girls named Gertrude Hattie and Myrtle Iva born 1905 who died in infancy. They had Marvin Otis Hill 1906-1984. Bertha and Dexter Hill divorced on 6 Feb 1907. He is at Memorial # 11592056.
On 13 Jan 1908 in Mangum, Greer, Oklahoma, Bertha married Robert Kates Cook, son of Thomas Christopher Cook and Arabelle Austin. Robert and Bertha Cook had 9 children together.

The entry about Kansas Census is an error. Bertha Ellison Cook was never a Kansas resident. She would have been somewhere in Beckham or Greer County Oklahoma at that time.
