Biography
Elizabeth Fletcher's parents moved from Frederick County, Maryland at about the time of their marriage in 1794. Elizabeth was born about 2 years later in Bedford County. In 1810 her family was also living in Southampton Twp., Bedford County.
Joseph Barkman and Elizabeth Fletcher were married about 1814 in Bedford County. Over the next 25 years, they continued to live in Southampton Twp. and raised a family of at least 12 children[1].
Died of "overjoy" when her son David surprised her with a visit (see David Barkman's obituary).
