Biography

Elizabeth Holmes was born on January 16, 1734 in Plymouth, Province of Massachusetts Bay. Her parents were Elisha Holmes and Sarah Bartlett.[1]

She married Joseph Nye on December 23, 1756 in Sandwich.[2]

Together they had 5 children:

  1. Elisha Nye[3]
  2. Joseph Nye
  3. Bartlett Nye
  4. Heman Nye
  5. Temperance Nye

She died in 1779

Research Notes

  • She was originally attached as the daughter of Ebenezer Holmes. His daughter, mentioned in his estate distribution in 1763 was deceased and unmarried or married to a Holmes.
