Burke's Peerage (1831) states that Sir Thomas Leigh died in 1571 and was buried in the Mercers' Chapel, London, and that his widow lived many years at Stoneleigh, dying in 1603. (Thus no 2nd marriage by Sir Thomas Leigh.)
