"Mrs. Sophia R. McClure died at the home of her son Sam McClure inJohnson township Tuesday afternoon at 4:15. She had been living at thehome of Mr. McClure for several years and had reached the age of 86years. She is survived by the following children. Sam McClure, Mrs. JohnHenderson, Mrs. Emma Branch, of Indianapolis, Mrs. Dora Dunkle, of St.Louis. Mrs. Clara Rose, of Hamilton, Ohio. She was the widow of the lateJames McClure who died about twelve or fifteen years ago.
Due notice will be made of the funeral which will be private fromthe Upper Indiana church."

McClure.
Mrs. Sophia R. McClure, a pioneer resident of this county, died atthe home of her son, Samuel McClure of Burnett Heights Tuesday afternoonat 4:15 o'clock. Deceased was 86 years of age. Sophia R. McCord came tothis county with her parents from Kentucky when she was only 2 years ofage. They settled in Palmyra township. In 1839 she was united in marriageto James R. McClure, a prominent farmer and to them were born fivechildren. They are Samuel McClure, Mrs. John Henderson, Mrs. Ella Branchof Indianapolis, Mrs. Dora Dunkle of St. Louis, Mrs. Clara Rose ofHamilton, Ohio. Mr. McClure died in 1893 and since that time the deceasedhad made her home with her son. Mrs. McClure when quite young united withthe Methodist church and was one of its oldest members.
The funeral will be held tomorrow (Thursday) morning at 10 o'clockfrom the residence and will be strictly private. Rev. J. H. Doddridgewill officiate and the remains will be laid to rest in the city cemetery."
