Samuel was the son of Ebenezer and Abigail Presbury Perry; he was born at Sandwich in the Massachusetts Bay Colony on June 27, 1731.^[1] He married Susannah Swift at Darmouth in 1754.^[2][3] They built a home there and raised seven children.^[4]

Samuel and Susannah died within a year of each other at New Bedord.^[4]
