Biography

Mary Rayment was born at Beverly, Essex County, Massachusetts, 31 January 1709/10,^[1] the daughter of Nathaniel² Rayment (John¹) and his wife, Rebecca³ Conant (Lot², Roger¹).

She married at Beverly, 2 May 1728, William Presson.^[2] He was born at Beverly, 1 January 1704/5,^[3] the son of William Presbury and his wife, Priscilla Randall.

In the division of Nathaniel Rayment's estate, 2 April 1752, a barn and surrounding land was assigned to son David Rayment, but the house remained undivided among his four sons (David, Benjamin, George and Nathaniel). On 1 July 1769, those listed below conveyed their interest in the house to Joseph Raymond of Beverly, housewright,^[4][5]
