Biography

Susannah P Hovey was born on December 24, 1790, in Gagetown, New Brunswick, Canada, her father, Aaron, was 28, and her mother, Dorothy, was 28. She married John McLeod and they had five children together. She then married Abel Pond on 10 Sep 1823 at Ludlow, Northumberland, New Brunswick, Canada,[1]and they had four children together. She died around 1870 in Northumberland, New Brunswick, Canada, having lived a long life of 80 years.

The earliest recorded marriage in the Upper Miramichi settlement was Susanna Hovey, daughter of Aaron Hovey Sr. Susanna married Roderick McLeod at age 12.

Two of her sisters, Dorothy and Rhoda, married at 15.
