I never met my grandfather, he passed away when my father was 16. I only have the stories my dad and Aunt Mildred would tell about what a kind loving man he was. Two stories that stick out:

1. My father said his dad would always tell him no man is better than another, we all put our pants on one leg at a time. 2. James Henry's oldest son, Jesse, died at around age 20 from an injury that occurred during a Church basketball game. He was knocked down and then someone stepped on his chest. It collapsed his lung and he died a few days later in the hospital. The young man asked how he was doing and his father told the boy who caused the injury that he was doing well because he did't want that young man to feel guilty.
