Hi Nancy,

Thank you for adding your DNA to WikiTree. :)

Here is a link that will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree: Getting the Best from DNA

Hi Claire,

Actually I was surprised to see that. I don't recall adding it to Wikitree. Nevertheless it's a nice addition.

Hmmm. We don't add DNA to people's profiles. If you have added your DNA, there should be a little box on the left of your profile that says that you are 100% related to yourself (!!?) and then if you look at your parents, it should say 50% related to each parent, and so on.

Do you have a family member who might have added your DNA for you? I've seen children or grandchildren add DNA for their relatives.

You really should merge Thomas Eldred and Thomas Eldredge. These are simply alternate spellings for the surname of the same person. In their profiles, the same will is listed. Thomas Eldredge's profile does not include ANY children, so your stated reason for not merging is not correct.

Don Long,

Apparently you are not a member of Wikitree. As far as I know all of my ancestors are from the United Kingdom, none from Germany.

Hi Nancy. Regarding https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Howland-1628, you could reuse it for another person whose surname is Howland or, since you're the PM, change the surname to that of someone else for whom you wish to create a profile.

Cheers,

Bill

Hi Nancy "Congratulations" on receiving the Red "Generous Genealogist" Badge recently. It is great to see others helping with members' brick walls. That would take some collaboration!! Nice job, Way to Go.

Nancy,

On the Eldridge-1340 page, you had this comment about the merge:

Mayflower Families though Five Gen., Volume Two, p. 215. I cannot find a date for the marriage but the births of the children of James and Ruth are listed in Mayflower Births and Deaths, Volume 1 & 2, Chatham MD 17:88. The only children who are mentioned are Zephaniah, Rebecca, Abner and James. The death date and father for James is found in MD 17:89.

You missed that child Ruth Eldredge b. 16 Feb 1737 was also listed.

Nancy, You have obviously accomplished a tremendous amount of work on Kendrick-1110 compared to what I have done on Kendrick-400. It appears we must both be direct descendants of Edward Kendrick. Since Kendrick-400 was the first profile created all other profiles would be merged into it (Kenderick-423, and Kendrick 1110). However, I feel it appropriate to offer you the opportunity to be the Profile Manager of Kenderick-400. Taylor
Nancy, I have adopted so many profiles that are related to mine over the past couple of years. I rec'd an email from another member that basically addressed what you had written on Edward Kendrick's profile for me! Guess it's time to address this mess! Sorry I was in Graduate School and finally finished. Thanks for all your valuable info. Taylor
Hi!

I see that you did some work on pre-1700 profiles recently. That's great!

WikiTree has several projects for pre-1700 profiles. Let me know if you'd like me to help you find the right project and introduce you to the project leaders.

Also, an important aspect of WikiTree is providing sources for information, so don't forget to include your sources when you add a profile or edit an existing profile. For details on how to add, edit and find sources, see Sources and the Sources Style Guide. To get you started, you can also check this collection of sources for some ideas on where to search for information about your ancestors.

Cheers, Liz ~ WikiTree Mentor
