William Abbott came free to the Colony of South Australia (1836-1900)

William, son of George Abbott & Sarah Abbott, was baptised on 20 June 1832 in St George, Hanover Square, Westminster, England.^[1]

William's marriage to Mary Ann was registered in the Jan-Feb-Mar quarter of 1851 in the Exeter district.^[2][3][4]

In the 1851 census William (age 21) was the head of household in Exeter St Mary Steps, Devon, England.^[5]

William and his family migrated to South Australia on the 'Telegraph' via Plymouth, arriving 23 JAN 1855. Port Adelaide, South Australia, Australia. Age: 24. ^[6][7]

William died (age 62) on 24 July 1891 in Port Augusta, South Australia.^[8][9][10]
