Louise, the daughter of Lynden Abell and his wife Martha Yarwood, was born and grew up in Rome, New York. [1] She married Thomas Hartley Seymour, a prominent Chicago businessman, in 1857. Their home in Norwood Park, the Nobel-Seymour-Crippen House, is a Chicago landmark.[2] After T.H.'s death in 1916, the family sold the house to the Crippen family.[3]
Louise moved to California and was recorded in the 1920 Census living in Pasadena with her brother-in-law William L. Brown. Her daughters Harriet and Catharine and four servants also lived in the household.[4]
She died in California in 1928[5] and was buried at the Union Ridge Cemetery, Chicago.[6]
