The Mary Hamilton that has been seen in many databases can not be the mother of most of these children. She would have been 3 years old when the marriage happened. She would also be less than 5 years old when John was born, before 1775.
There are a lot of trees on the internet and data on Family Search, that all show how young she would have been if this was Hugh's first and only marriage. The thought is that the Mary that was Born about 1770 and died 16 Sept 1838 was a second if not a third wife. We all know that a 5 year old can not have children. There is NO real paper trail for either case, but the age of Mary must be a factor to be considered. Hugh had 17 children that we know of, starting with John B1775 and the last Samuel B1814.
The listed sources the ancestry Member Tree has been made private, that are listed on her profile.
The following is from said will:
"To my two sons George and Samuel Abernathy I give and bequeath the farm on which I now live, it being a part of the East half of the north east quarter of Section Ten in Township Ten of Range two West of the Meridian line drawn from the mouth of the Great Miama River, but untill they both arrive to the age of twenty one years, I wish it to be destinctly understood, that their mother shall have the privilege of occupying the samd farm should she so long live, and to appropriate the rents and profits thereof to her own support and to the support and education of the said George and Samuel, whom I desire may remain with their said Mother until they arrive to the age of twenty one years respectively. In case either the said George or Samuel should decease previous to his arriving to the age of twenty one years if he should leave no children, his part shall accrue to one who survives. In case the said George and Samuel should both decease before they shall have arrived to the age of twenty one years and leave no children, the said farm is hereby given and bequeathed to my said Wife during her life time and to her heirs and their heirs and assigns forever."
All other children listed with in this will are referred to as " my son or daughter", while George and Samuel have their mother referenced.

I have now been able to add the First wife, Unknown (Unknown) Abernathy profile #298423. The second wife Mary (Unknown) Abernathy Profile #298353 Is the mother of George 1810-1874 and Samuel 1814-1890. She MAY also be the mother of some of the other younger 14 children, as Hugh's will was done in 1825 and some of them may have all ready been out on their own. George and Samuel were the only ones still living at home.
If all of the other databases were changed to reflect the mothers I believe that most will fall in line.
Once things get straighten out, My DNA 111 marker is a match to a living person from the James Abernathy, son of Hugh and this "Unknown, (unknown) Abernathy #298423 as I am from the Samuel Line son Hugh and the Mary (Unknown) Abernathy #298353.
Abernathy-573 and Abernathy-306 appear to represent the same person because: There is a variation on the birthdate, but one of them appears to be an estimate; otherwise, the information is duplicate.
