Obituary

FRITCH - Daisy Mae Ables Wasson, 95, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, in Borger.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Fritch Church of Christ with Richard Kasko officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Cemetery by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Wasson left this world to join her Heavenly Father, husband, son and countless family and friends.

She was born Jan. 1, 1908, to James W. and Tennie Ables in Delrose, Tenn. In 1931, she met John Add Wasson. They were married in Hollis, Okla.

They were ranchers, working at the Waggoner Ranches in Texas and New Mexico. They had one son, James Add Wasson, born in 1938.

The Wassons began their life-long work at the Sanford Ranch near Fritch in 1947. She loved working for the ranch and was a homemaker. Among her favorite pastimes were reading, cooking (especially her apple pies) and gardening.

She was a member of TOPS and Fritch Church of Christ. She was known as a friend, a confidant and a godly servant to others. She was often considered a mother and grandmother to countless individuals who still claim her as their own. Children were adored and loved by Grandma Daisy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Add Wasson; and her son, James Add Wasson.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law and "son-in-law," Shirley and Kent Eagle; four grandchildren, Kim and John Huot, Jamey and Leslie Wasson, Shelly and Rusty Biggs and Charley Wasson; great-grandchildren, Dain Lee, Brooke Wasson, Lance Wasson and Rachel Biggs; and Kent's daughters and their families who she equally loved as if they were her own, Kay Lynn, Chris, Marlee and Taylor Clifford, Debbie, Eric, Megan and Luke Peterson and Kathy, Kyle, Seth and Tanner Whittenberg.

The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be to Fritch Church of Christ youth group, P.O. Box 298, Fritch, TX 79036; or to Crown of Texas Hospice, 1000 S. Jefferson St., Amarillo, TX 79109.
