Biography

Elizabeth Acock (1877-1957) was born in the West Derby part of Liverpool on the 22nd July 1877 ^[1] and christened at St Oswald Catholic church in West Derby, Liverpool on the 1st August 1878. She was the daughter of Edward Acock and Margaret Simmons. ^[2]

The family lived in West Derby, in New Road in 1881 ^[3] and Penton Street in 1891 ^[4]

She was employed as a domestic servant in Smithdown Road, Toxteth Park in 1901. ^[5]

I cannot find Elizabeth in 1911 at all but she married a widower George Richardson in 1914 in Liverpool. ^[6]

(The intervening years between 1901 and 1911 are unknown but her death notice mentioned she was mother of Charles, Margaret & George) Charles' birth was registered in 1917 but apart from Alfred who died as a baby in 1921, I cannot find any other children born after the marriage in England & Wales) (** It is a slight possibility that 2 children born in Chorlton, Manchester called Acock, Margaret b 1903 and George Richardson b 1906, might just be hers. George Richardson Acock certainly lived in Liverpool for most of his life. They could also have been adopted or born in other countries.)

Elizabeth & her husband George lived in Myrtle Gardens from 1939 ^[7] until her death in 1957 in hospital. ^[8]

She was buried in Allerton Cemetery, Liverpool on the 19th December 1957. ^[9]
