Dear Brother, You rec'd McNeal invitation to the Commenment. he got a great many nice presents and he got his Diploma last Wednesday. He delivered the Valedictory. I am afraid I will not be here to see them through another session. I am worn out and weak. Dr. Terry told me that maybe I could pick up a little strenght before warm weather. I cough a little and need to eat but can't eat any solid food my stomach is so bad. Just raw eggs sweet milk soup and lemons but I would rather eat vegetable and bread but my stomach and bowells hurt all the time. You ought to see me, am almost a skeleton. If I get better able to stand the trip am coming down there sometime this summer if I get worse will let you know and of course you will have to come to see me. We had rain too but it is getting dry again. I will close trusting you are all well love to all, Your sister as ever Emma

Letter of Emma to Mabel Acree......May the 3rd-1915.....

Dear Mabel, I wrote your papa yesterday but company came in and I had to put off writing untill this morning. And being Monday the little girls getting off to school and Jessie Ray going to take her music lesson I can't take time to write much. Wheeler went to Pensacola yesterday on the excursion. Just got in a little before breakfast, he had to go on to the drug store with-out sleeping any. I haven't got much of a garden ......incomplete.......don't have the rest of the letter.

I also have a copy of a letter that she wrote to her brother Charles E. Acree from Robert Acree that is dated Dec. 22nt 1914

Dear Brother

I rec'd your letter yesterday. We are all up, we will not have much Xmas but never do have much. We have had several pleasant days but I think it is getting colder again this evening. I have written Mabel and will just make a note of this I am tired I can't eat any supper at all and haven't had a real nice sleep for several weeks. Come over Christmas I will give you ham and nice cake but I can't eat any ham myself the very food that I like is the food that I can't eat.

I hope you are well and will see many Xmas days.

Yourloving sister Emma
