Biography
Jane was baptised on 24 Feb 1802 at All Saints, Hastings, Sussex, England, the daughter of Richard Adams and his wife Elizabeth Gawen. in late 1821 or early 1802 she gave birth to a daughter, Rachel. The father of the child remains unknown. In September 1823 she was married to William Sutton. From the 1841 census it would seem that, as a child, her daughter Rachel was known as Rachel Sutton. However when Rachel was married in December 1843 she was married as Rachel Adams.
