Biography

Newton was born in 1764. He was the son of Thomas Adams and Elizabeth Clark.

Newton enlisted July 14, 1780 in Captain Nathan Thayer's Co., Col., Ebenezer Thayer's Suffolk Reg., served 3 months and 6 days; was at West Point; discharged October 9, 1780. Also in Captain Amos Ellis' Co., Col. Dean's 4th Suffolk Reg., March 3, 1781, 15 days to March 17.

A Genealogical History of Henry Adams, of Braintree, Massachusetts and his Descendants, page 19, is said to have married but no more is known.

Living in Providence, Rhode Island in 1793.

Newton Adams passed away 17 Dec 1844 at age 80 in Medfield, Norfolk, Massachusetts, United States.
