William was born in 1876 in Langtree, Devon. He was the son of George Adams and Mary Grace (Martin) Adams.[1]

William's marriage to Mary Ann Netherway was registered in the Jan-Feb-Mar quarter of 1900 in the Torrington district. They had a son, James Henry.[2]
