Lonnie Grady ADKINS was called "Cy" all his life by his father, he was an outdoorsman. He loved horses and wrote poetry. He worked in the Sheriff's Office in Conroe, TX and ran for Sheriff of the the County. During World War II, he served in the Marine Corps. At his grave is a bronze plaque which reads "Texas PHM1 USN March 29, 1912 - Sept 30, 1955". Cy moved to Longview, TX after the war where he served as a Deputy Sheriff of Gregg Co., TX. He loved people but marriage was not successful for him. Ernestine Ray was his wife when he died. He died in a Veteran's hospital at McKinney, Collin Co., TX after a 3 year bout with lung cancer. [1]
