Hon. & Rev. John Ellis Agar (1764-1797), born 31 December 1764; educated at Westminster School and admitted to Christ Church, Oxford on 9 June 1784, aged 19. BA 1788; MA 1791.
He was ordained deacon and priest, 1789; Rector of Duntrileague (Limerick), 1789; He was collated Prebendary of Kilneleige (Emly) on 2 July 1788, and installed on 4th July. In 1796 he was appointed Precentor of Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin. His patent was dated 26th February 1796 and he was admitted and installed on the following day. He was also Rector of St. George's, Dublin. He held all positions until his death in 1797.
John married on 11 March 1792, Harriet Flower, daughter of William Flower, 2nd Viscount Ashbrook.
