Carlo Aiello is born 27 May 1858 in Bagheria, Italy, the son of Nunzio Aiello and Antonina Tripoli.[1]
Carlo Aiello, age 27, possidente (landowner), native resident of Bagheria, son of the late Nunzio Aiello and Antonina Tripoli; and Antonina Aiello, age 19, housewife, native resident of Bagheria, daughter of Andrea Aiello and Maria Galioto; announce their marriage in the civil record on 19 March 1886 in Bagheria.[2]
Carlo and Caterina have at least four children who are confirmed in vital records: Nunzio (1886), Andrea (1888), Giuseppe/Joe (1890), and Carlo (1895). There are two more brothers who are known from secondary sources: Salvatore/Sam and Pietro/Peter.
Nunzio was born 23 February 1886 in Bagheria, Italy, the son of Carlo Aiello, who lives in Bagheria at the time of his 1920 passport application.[3]
Carlo, the son, is born 17 March 1895, according to the record of his death.[1]
Giuseppe immigrates in 1907, joining his brother, Andrea in Utica, New York.[6]
Andrea, Giuseppe, and Nunzio all live together in Utica in 1910.[7]
Nunzio marries Rosina Rizzo in Chicago in 1916.[8]
Joe marries Caterina Amari in Utica, around 1917.
Nunzio applies for a passport in March, 1920. He asks his passport be sent to him at 224 Locust St., Chicago, IL.[3]
Nunzio and Carlo sail from Palermo to New York together on the SS Dante Alighieri, arriving 22 August 1920.[9] Their names appear on different manifest forms, because Nunzio is a US citizen and Carlo is an alien passenger entering the US. Carlo's line says he is joining his son Andrea at 224 Locust St., Chicago.[10]
Carlo Aiello dies on 18 April 1923 in Chicago. He is 64. Carlo was in the fruit business. He is buried on 21 April in Mt. Carmel.[1]
Joe is killed by Capone's men on 23 October 1930.[11]
