The 1880 census her entry has a line drawn thru it with "dead" in the occupation column. The census is dated June 3, 1880. This supports her tombstone with a death date of March 30, 1880. The youngest child, Nancy, was born in March, according to the 1880 census record.

The 1900 census has an entry for Joseph Johnson, age 65, born Feb 1835 Mo, with wife Nancy Johnson, age 60, born April 1840 TN. They have been married 43 years and she has 7 children, 5 living. The other person in this household is a two-year-old grandson, Joseph Johnson. The facts recorded about Nancy match with this Nancy. The death certificate of Isaac Preston Johnson has his parents as Joseph Johnson and Nancy Aley [sic]. So I believe that the family referenced in the 1880 census is this family.
