He married Betsy Mathers 13 Nov 1896 in St. Monance. Thomas was 23 years old living at Backgate and a fisherman. His parents were David Aitken, fisherman, and Johan Muir. Betsy was 20 living at East End. Her parents were William Mathers, fisherman and Mary Butter.

He passed away in 1945 in Shotts, Lanarkshire. ^[2]
