As told to my by Abel's grandson Carlos Ramon Alarcon, son of Carlos Alarcon. After the passing of Abel's wife Encarnacion, Carlos who walk around downtown Santa Paula, California. Abel was using a cane at that time. When A lady, whom able knows, would be walking towards them, Abel was would quickly give Carlos his cane. Abel said he did not want her to know that he used one. Once the conversion was over, and the lady walked away, he would say to Carlos, "Hurry, give me my cane, my leg is hurting like hell!".
