William Albershardt was born on the 11th January 1876, in Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio, United States, the son of German-born parents: Herman Albershardt and Frederika Wilhelmina Nachenhorst.
On the 12th June 1880, the 3-year-old William was living with his family at 6 Miami Street, Cincinnati, Cincinnati. Home at the time were his father: Herman (40), a worker in a store; his mother: Frederika (40); and his siblings: 13-year-old German-born Lena; 11-year-old Ohio-born Fred; 9-year-old Ohio-born Sophia; 5-year-old Ohio-born Henry; and 1-year-old Ohio-born Emma.[1]
Between 1880 and 1903, William had dropped the d from his surname, and was known as William Albershart.
William and Linnie Anne "Anna" Dayhuff were married on the 11th July 1903, in St. Joseph County, Indiana.[2] They were to have three known children, a daughter: Helen May (1907–1955); and two sons: Harry Herman (1905–1905); and Harry Leonard (1909 –1973).
On the 15th April 1910, William (33), a laborer at the rubber works, was living with his family at 224 E Joseph, in Penn Township, Mishawaka. Those home at the time were his wife: Linnie Anne (23); and their children: 3-year-old Helen May; and 7-month-old Harry.[3]
Somewhen after April 1910, and before the end of 1916, the marriage fell apart and William and Anna parted ways.
When he registered for the draft on the 12th September 1918, William was described as being tall, of medium build, with light hair, and blue eyes. His was employed as a nut-tapper for the Dodge manufacturing company, in Mishawaka. His next of kin was listed as Julius Berends.[4]
He married secondly the widowed Anna Easterday née Thomas (or Thompson) on the 21st April 1919, in St Joseph County, Indiana.[5]
On the 3rd April 1940, William (64), a laborer, was living at 1629 Toberman Street, Los Angeles, California.[6]
He married thirdly Mary Cornelius Walton née Crane in 1949, in California.
William Albershart né Albershardt passed away on the 30th April 1955, in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California, United States, aged 79 years.[7] and was interred on the 4th May, in the Inglewood Park Cemetery, Inglewood, California.[8]
