Biography

Hannah Alcock was born 25 May 1643 in Boston, Massachusetts, daughter of Thomas and Margery Alcock. [1] The NEHGS Register, Vol. 97, p. 12, lists her DOB as 25 May 1642 to Thomas & Margaret Alcock.

Numerous sources have confused/combined two Hannahs that married a Snell. This Hannah should not be confused with Hannah Fernside (aka Ferniside), who married Reuben Hull and then George Snell.

Hannah Alcock, who married George Snell was the daughter of John & Elizabeth Alcock, not Thomas & Margery Alcock, as listed above.[2]

This is very confusing because it lists two different sets of parents. The Hannah Alcock Snell who was married to Captain George Snell was the daughter of John ALCOCK because there is a notation on the map for Alcock's Neck at York that when John ALCOCK died in 1676 the property was divided between Joseph Alcock (his eldest son) and his daughter Hannah (Alcock) Snell. Can you correct this to avoid confusion?

Fernside-2 and Alcock-121 do not represent the same person because: Lots of confusion here - different birth/death/marriage dates and parents/siblings. One of the Hanna's was married 1 to Rueben Mull and 2nd to George or John Snell - both Mariners .
