Francis was born in 1823 in Alabama. In 1850 he is enumerated on the federal census in Yalobusha County, Mississippi. [1] Francis was a lawyer who practiced in Coffeeville, Mississippi. He was a Captain in the Fifteenth Regiment, Mississippi Infantry (Co. H Coffeefille Rifles). [2] Francis died 1862 at the Battle of Shiloh. [3]
