Edna May Alexander, daughter of Albert Bothman Alexander and Mary Octavia Little, was born on 8 June 1888 in East Saint Louis, St. Clair County, Illinois.[1][2] She appeared on the census of 7 June 1900 in the home of her parents at East St Louis Ward 5, St Clair, Illinois.[3]
She married Mr. Taft.[4]
Edna enlisted in the Womens Army Corps on 19 Feb. 1945 at Phoenix, Arizona.[5]
She married Thomas B. Smith on 17 Oct. 1961 in Imperial California.[6]
Edna died on 30 Dec. 1981 in Fresno County, California[2] and was buried at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, Riverside County, California. Her memorial shows the inscription: "US ARMY T5 WORLD WAR II."[1]
