Joyce Allen was born 29 Jan 1719 in St. Peter's Parish, New Kent, Colony of Virginia.[1] She was the daughter of William Allen and Hannah Watson. She married John Easley, son of John Easley Sr. about 1735.[2]. John died before August 1746 when his will was proven in Goochland Co VA court. [3] Following his death, Joyce was mentioned in several court records in regard to her late husband's estate. [4] These court records also indicate her father William Allen served as guardian of John and Joyce's children for a while, until Joyce's second Joel Chandler Jr. took on this charge in September 1748. [5] When William Allen's will was proven on 11 Jun 1752 in Albemarle Co VA, his daugther Joice (sic) Chandler was named an heir.[6]
