• Mr. J.Z. Allen Special to The State. Rock Hill, March 6. - J.Z Allen, a much respected citizen and prominent in the United Confederate Veterans organization, died rather suddenly Saturday night at the home of his son-in-law, J.F. Wingate, in this city. Mr. Allen was in his 74th year. He leaves four children. The funeral was held this afternoon at 4 o'clock. Rev. Mr. Rogers of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian church officiating.
