On the 10 day of of the 8th month (October), 1737 Martha and Mathew signified their continued intentions of marriage, with the consent of their parents and with a return of clear inquires as reported in the Haddonfield Women's minutes.[2]
Mathew Allen and Martha Stokes declared their first intentions of marriage on 8th day, 6th mo (Aug) 1737 at the Haddonfield Meeting (Camden) as recorded in the women's meeting notes.[3]

Mathew and Martha had the following children;

Anthony Allen b 6 January 1743/4; m Mary Roberts
Joseph Allen b 29th, 40 mo. [June] 1746;[5] m Hannah Wilcox[6][7]
Enoch Allen b 4 October 1750: m 1) Hannah Collins 3) Ann (Haines) Kirby[8]
He passed away on 17 November 1771. His death date comes from the following Bible document:
"the age and death of my grandparents
the 27th of the 11 mo departed this life Mathew Allen 1771" [6]
