Biography
John's birth was registered in the Jul-Aug-Sep quarter of 1889 in the Wetherby district.[1][2]
John was christened on 23 December 1889 in Hazelwood, Derbyshire.[3]
In the 1891 census John (age 1) was the son of Reynold H N Alleyne in Sandhills, Thorner, Yorkshire.[4]
He served in the Royal Navy, entering the training the training ship HMS Britannia in 1904. He served as a regular officer until 1936, retiring with the rank of Captain on 12 January 1936[5]
John (age 31), son of Reginald Henry Newton Alleyne, married Alice Violet Emily Campbell on 20 December 1920 in St Luke, Chelsea.[6]
Sir John Meynell Alleyne of Greenacres, Seaman's Lane, Minstead, Hampshire, died on 17 December 1983. His estate passed probate on 1 June 1984 in London.[7][8]
