Word was received here yesterday of the death in Berea, Ohio, of the Rev. J. C. Allinger, 86, who preached for many years in the Methodist churches of southern Indiana. He was located for seven years at St. Phillips Church in Posey County.
Born in Germany, he came to this country with his parents when he was two years old and the family settled at Santa Claus. He is one of 23 men of that church who have gone into the ministry.
Surviving are his wife, Carrie; six children, the Rev. Carl Allinger, pastor of Salem Methodist church, Kratzville road; Edward Allinger and Mrs. Emma Landstrom of Cleveland, Ohio, the Rev. Albert Allinger of Palisades Park, N. J.; Mrs. Helen Marsdon of New York, and Miss Louise Allinger of Berea.
