Biography

Jane was born before 1796, she was baptised[1] at St Ann, Manchester on 11 Mar 1796 and is the daughter of William and Jane Alton.

She married[2] William Brown 2 July 1819 at St John, Manchester.

Transcript:
William Brown of the Parish and town of Manchester, warehouseman and Jane Alton of the Parish and town aforesaid, Spinster were married in this Church by Banns with Consent of this Second day of July in the year One Thousand eight hundred and nineteen By me Rob Dallas.
This marriage was solemnized between us, William Brown, Jane Alton (both signed), in the presence of Ann Alton and Mrs Alton (both signed).

1841 England Census[3] has the Brown family living at Chancery Lane, Manchester.
