Biography

Michele Amodeo was born at Sciacca, Provincia di Girgenti, Kingdom of Sicily, "hodie," about 12:00 p.m., 3 July 1754, son of Gaspare Amodeo and Antonia [Marino], and was baptized in San Michele parish, Sciacca, 3 July 1754; his sponsors were Michele "Amodei" and Anna euis mater.[1] Michele Amodeo died at his home in Quartiere Olivella, Cortile di Ventanoggi, Sciacca, at 7:00 p.m., 1 December 1822, aged 60 [sic]; a contadino; no marital status, born at and a resident of Sciacca, son of fu Gaspare Amodeo and fu Antonia la Daina. Calogero Greco, aged 60, a contadino; and Giuseppe Lombardo, aged 27, a mugnaio, both of Quartiere Olivella, Cortile di Ventanoggi, reported his death.[2]

Michaelem Amodeo, son of Gaspare Amodeo and Antonia Marino, married at Sciacca (Quartiere Matrice), 18 7bre (September) 1774, by Reverendo Sacerdote Don Francesco Pisone Capp.ni, Antonina Ognibene, daughter of qm Giuseppe Ognibene and Ninfa Rumeo; both couples were of San Michele parish. The witnesses were Don Giuseppe Abruzzo and Don Antonino Abruzzo; Reverendo Don Antonino Vinci conducted the benediction.[3]

Antonina Lucia Ognibene was born at Sciacca, "hodie," 13 Xbre (December) 1754, daughter of Giuseppe Ognibene and Ninfa [Romeo], and was baptized in San Michele parish, Sciacca, 13 Xbre (December) 1754; her sponsors were Antonino and Giacoma Cachiara.[4] Antonina Ognibene died at Quartiere San Michele, Sciacca, at 8:00 a.m., 17 July 1835, aged 80, born at and a resident of Sciacca, vedova del fu Michele Amodeo, and daughter of fu Giuseppe Ognibene and fu Ninfa Indelicato [sic]. Giuseppe Imbrosia, aged 25, a marinaro; and Lorenzo Raso, aged 35, a contadino, both of Quartiere Santo Vito, reported her death.[5] Antonina Ognibene died in her home, and was buried on the grounds of San Francesco Church, Sciacca, 17 July 1835, aged 80 [sic]: "Antonina Ognibene annora 80 etatis sue."[6]

Sciacca (Quartiere San Michele), 20 7bre (Sept.) 1812, by Reverendo Sacerdote Don Antonino Gratiano Capp.ni, Mariam Carlino, vid.a Mariani Pumilia and dau. of qm Vincenzo Carlino and Flavia Gravanti of San Michele parish. The witnesses were Don Giuseppe Cucchiara and M.ro Antonino Amplo.[10] Maria Carlino d. Quartiere San Michele, Sciacca, at 1:00 p.m., 18 Sept. 1856, ae. 55, an industriosa, b. and res. Sciacca, vedova in primo luogo di Mariano Pumilia, in secondo di Giuseppe Amodeo, ed interzo di Accursio Bentivegna, dau. of fu Vincenzo Carlino, a mugnaio; and fu Flavia Gravanti. Francesco Ciancimini, ae. 55, a becchino; Giuseppe Riggio, ae. 48, a becchino; reported her death.[11][12]
  3. Antonia Santa Calogera Amodeo, b. 10 p.m., 31 8bre (Oct.) 1784; bap. 31 8bre (Oct.) 1784; sponsors were Vincenzo and Calogera Fazzio.
  4. Ninfa Francesca Amodeo, b. 6 a.m., 25 8bre (Oct.) 1787; bap. 25 8bre (Oct.) 1787; sponsors were Pietro and Giovanna Maniscalco. Ninfa Amodeo d. in her home, Quartiere Olivella, Cortile di Ventanoggi, Sciacca, at 2:00 p.m., 5 Feb. 1874, ae. 90, an industriosa, b. and res. Sciacca, vedova di Gaspare Allegro. Antonino Craparo fu Francesco, ae. 39, a falegname; and Francesco Tresca fu Baldassare, ae. 63, a sartore, reported her death.[13] Ninpham Amodeo, dau. of Michele Amodeo and Antonia Ognibene, m. Sciacca (Quartiere San Michele), 28 7bre (Sept.) 1806, by Reverendo Sacerdote Don Giuseppe Tavormina Capp.ni, Gasparem Allegro, son of Onofrio Allegro and Antonia Spinello. The witnesses were Don Giuseppe Cucchiara and Maestro Giuseppe Amplo. Gaspare Domenico Accursio Allegro was b. Sciacca, 11 Feb. 1782, bap. Matrice, son of Onofrio Allegro and Antonina Spindella. Gaspare Allegro d. Quartiere San Michele, Sciacca, at 10:00 a.m., 16 Oct. 1849, ae. 70, a borgese, b. and res. Sciacca, sposo di Ninfa Amodeo. Ignazio Calvacchia, ae. 46, a muratore; and Alfonso Turtorici, ae. 23, a facchino, reported his death.[14]

(2) Sciacca (Quartiere San Michele), 24 8bre (Oct.) 1813, by Reverendo Sacerdote Don Saverio Mantia Capp.ni, Antoninum Russo, son of qm Giuseppe Russo and Antonia Campo. The witnesses were Don Giuseppe Cucchiara and Don Accursio Cucchiara. Antonino Russo d. Quartiere Santo Vito, Sciacca, at 8:00 a.m., 10 Aug. 1837, a contadino, b. and res. The witnesses were Don Giuseppe Cucchiara and Maestro Giuseppe Amplo. Baldassare Allegro d. No. 582 Quartiere Olivella, Sciacca, at 3:00 p.m., 29 March 1868, ae. 70 [sic], a contadino, b. and res.
