Research Notes

Regarding her different birth years and locations. I believe the 25 Aug 1869, Bavaria and not 25 August, 1872 Pittsburgh is correct as it appears on her marriage record ^[1]. Also, all records until the 1920 Census list Bavaria or Germany as her birth place. From 1920 on she is listed as being born in Pennsylvania. This is not uncommon for parsons of German origin after World War I due to animosity towards Germany's involvement in that war. And all Census records record approximate birth year as 1870. Her daughter Anna Stockman was the informant on her Death Certificate and may have erred on this . Also this would have been odd considering Catherine's sister Carrie was born in November of 1872.
