Claude Thomas Anders was among the 91 miners killed in the explosion of the Pond Creek No. 1 Mine at Bartley, West Virginia, 10 January 1940.
Son of Jasper Joseph Anders, Jr. and Teresa Bedwell.
"Claid" Andrews/Anders was age 2 in 1900, born in North Carolina, and living with his family in Gap Civil Township, Allegheny, North Carolina.[1]
Claud was age 10 in 1910, living in his parents' household in Elk Creek, Grayson, Virginia.[2]
Claude married Sadie Watts 20 Nov 1919 in Guilford Township, Gilmer, North Carolina.[3]
Claude married Minerva Marcum 28 Dec 1926 in Sullivan County, Tennessee.[4]
In 1930 Claude and Minerva and their children with daughter Sonia Anders age 3 b West Virginia and infant daughter Dorothea, in Sulphur Springs, Carroll, Virginia.[5]
