Ingjerd was born January 10, 1825, as the daughter of Anders Larsson and Kjerstin Månsdotter, at Torseryd in the parish of Odensjö, Kronoberg County, Sweden. She was christened January 14 and her godparents were the soldier Anders Trygg, Magnus Lindström and Pernilla Svensdotter.[1]
Childhood
Ingjerd was the sixth of seven children. On the farm also lived Kjerstin's parents and there were one to three farm maids who worked on the farm.[2] Kjerstin passed away in 1839,[3] and since Ingjerd and one of her brothers were not of age, two legal guardians were assigned to them; Pär Jonasson from Ånas and Daniel Danielsson from Broddalt in the parish of Lidhult. Both were close relatives of Kjierstin.[4]
Family
June 24, 1842, Ingjerd married Johannes Larsson from Lidhult.[5] Ingjerd moved to live with her husband at Lidhult Storegård.[6] Three children were born there before the family moved to the parish of Torpa.[7]
