Michael was born in 1944. He was the son of Robert Anderson and Anne Caylor.
He married Jean Kleckner in 1974. They had no children.
Robert passed away in 2015.
Michael R. Anderson, 70, of Rockford died Saturday, March 7, 2015, in OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. Born July 21, 1944, in Rockford, the son of Robert and Ann (Caylor) Anderson. Graduated from West High School, Class of 1962. Attended Milwaukee School of Engineering. Married Jean E. Kleckner on Dec. 21, 1974, in Rockford; she died Feb. 21, 2006. Formerly employed by Rockford Powertrain and retired from Parker Hannifin. Member of Ham Radio Club, Corvette Club and Post Polio Group. Volunteered at Trinity Lutheran Church, RAMP and Salvation Army. Michael enjoyed woodworking. His family always looked forward to his baked cookies at holidays.
Survivors include brother, David (Cathryn) Anderson; brother-in-law, Robert (Diane) Kleckner; niece and nephew, Kristine Fitzgerald and Kevin (Stephanie) Kleckner, and their children; special friend, Fran Thingvold her son, Kurt Thingvold and foster daughter, Hayden.
Predeceased by his parents.
Service at 1 p.m. Friday, March 13, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from noon to service time.
Burial in Argyle Scottish Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church, RAMP or Salvation Army.
