Hampton was Choctaw.

Hampton was born in 1896 at Scripto, Tobucksy, Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory, son of David Anderson and Siney Byington. Hampton passed away 21 Dec 1964 in Oklahoma. He is memorialized in two locations, at the Arlington Memory Gardens, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma[2] and at the Green Meadows Cemetery Atoka, Atoka County, Oklahoma,[3]
