Biography

Carl Anderson migrated from Sweden to Michigan.

The presumed son of Anders Anderson and Lotta Larsdottir, Carl Anderson was born in Mariestad, Sweden^{[citation needed]} in 1859, residing with his family in Amnehärad, Skaraborgs, Sweden.^[1][2] His siblings included:

3. Maria Charlotta Anderson (1868-)
4. Johan Fredrik Anderson (1872-)

He immigrated to the United States, arriving in 1882^[3] and taking up residence in Cadillac, Michigan. Charles married Amanda (Håkansson) Anderson, the daughter of John August Håkansson and Johanna Edla Johansdotter, marrying in Cadillac, Michigan on December 2, 1885^[4] and having seven known children together: Carl Elmer Anderson (1890-1966)

They made their home in Cadillac, Michigan^[3] where in 1900, Charles worked as a lumber inspector at a mill yard.^[5][6] By 1930, Charles and his wife had moved to California, where his children had moved, taking up residence in Pasadena.^[7] That year, Carl worked as a typewriter repairman, working for his son, Elmer, who owned a typewriter store.

Charles Anderson passed away in Los Angeles County, California^[8] at the age of 74 and is buried at Mountain View Crematory and Mausoleum in Altadena, California.^[9]
