Biography
Carl Fredric Andersson was born on September 30 (nor September 25), 1822 in Högelid backstuga under Hunnarshults Håkansgård in Myresjö parish, Jönköping, Sweden. He was the son of Anders Johansson and his wife Anna Greta Johansdotter.[1]
He lived with his parents and siblings in backstugan Högelid on the grounds of Håkansgården 1835-1840.[2]
He worked as farm hand in Torp in Myresjö parish 1840-1841 when he moved to Näshult in 1841.[3][4]
He married Johanna Kristina Johansdotter (b. 1825 in Näshult) on December 28, 1847.
They had children, (all born in Näshult):
- Anna Maria b. 13 Aug 1849 - died in Sweden 1930
- Johan Albert b. 19 Mar 1854 - died in Sweden 1881
- Anders Fredrik b. 6 Aug 1856
- Carl Peter b. 9 Jun 1859 - died in Sweden 1924
- Ida Christina b. 26 Dec 1861 - died in 1862.
- Gustaf Viktor b. 19 Aug 1863
- Klas Edvard b. 29 Jan 1866
- Ida Karolina b. 5 Oct 1869 - emigrated to the US in 1886
He passed away on March 11, 1869 in Frutorp, Näshult, Jönköping, leaving his wife and young children behind.
Research notes
- Dead Ancestry-links has notes on him emigrating to the US in 1869, but he lived and died in Näshult according to the household examination books. Probable hint mix up error.
- There's also a mix up regarding the children. Oskar Anders Fredrik's name and birth does not correspond with the sources. Gustaf E Carlsson is not their child, and John Wikfors can't be as he is born in 1892 in the US. See notes on Oskar Anders profile regarding name and date of birth. I believe this is Anders Fredrik, son of Carl.
