The son of Mary Ann Binning and William Anstey was born in Delaware County, Iowa, moving to Decatur County, Iowa in 1875, where he was reared and received a common school education. Here he grew up on a farm, with his brother and sister and 2 half brothers & 3 half sisters. His only marriage was annulled and Fredrick never remarried. After his mother's passing [1915], he moved to Red Oak, Iowa.
Frederick L Anstey was preceded in death by his parents, brother William Elsworth Anstey, Torrington, Wyoming, half sisters: Sarah Jane Hewlett, "Annie" Hewlett Harris, Mary Ann Hewlett Evans, half brothers: John and Richard Hewlett Survivors are his sister Minnie May Anstey Millard, Clarke County, Iowa and numerous nieces and nephews.

RED OAK - Funeral services for Fred Lincoln Anstey, 86, former Red Oak and Villisca resident, were held Monday at the Sellergren funeral home with the Rev. Phillip Van Luven officiating. He died Friday at Glenwood after an illness of several months. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Minnie Miller [Millard] of Grand River. Anstey had been a farmer.
