Biography

OBITUARY: With deepest sorrow, we announce that David Apodaca , age 21 our most beloved son, brother, family member and dear friend passed suddenly on Wednesday March 19 2023.

Despite his God given gift of bringing love to people, deep inside he was suffering in the darkness, privately battling a deep inexplicable pain.

Those who knew David, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives.

They reminisce about his ever-present smile and the warmth, depth and intelligence behind it.

David will be missed everyday by his Father, Ismael Reyes, his Mother, Julie Reyes, brother Joe Michael Apodaca, Sister's Crystal Apodaca and Alicia Apodaca,, his loving Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and many, many great friends.

We know David is loved here on earth as well as in heaven. David was true to his friends – ready and willing at a moment’s notice, for the sake of friendship.

We LOVE and MISS you so much my Son, brother, cousin, friend, XOXO.

Serving as Pallbearers, Edward Martinez, Carlos Garcia, Herman Gallegos, Dominick Esparza, Emilio Beltran, Meliki Apodaca, Christopher De La O.

Build Me a Son, O Lord

Build me a son, O Lord, who will be strong enough to know when he is weak, and brave enough to face himself when he is afraid; one who will be proud and unbending in honest defeat, and humble and gentle in victory.

Build me a son whose wishbone will not be where his backbone should be; a son who will know Thee and that to know himself is the foundation stone of knowledge. Lead him, I pray, not in the path of ease and comfort, but under the stress and spur of difficulties and challenge. Here let him learn to stand up in the storm; here let him learn compassion for those who fail.

Build me a son whose heart will be clean, whose goal will be high; a son who will master himself before he seeks to master other men; one who will learn to laugh, yet never forget how to weep; one who will reach into the future, yet never forget the past.

And after all these things are his, add, I pray, enough of a sense of humor, so that he may always be serious, yet never take himself too seriously. Give him humility, so that he may always remember the simplicity of greatness, the open mind of true wisdom, the meekness of true strength.

Then I, his father, will dare to whisper, “I have not lived in vain.”

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday March 29, 2023 at Our Lord of Mercy Catholic Church, 117 Hartman St in Hatch. Visitations will begin at 01:30 P.M. Recitation of the Holy Rosary is scheduled to begin at 02:30 P.M. with the Celebration of the Mass to follow. Interment and Rite of Committal will conclude and Garden of Memories Cemetery, 101 El Apajo way.
