Henry Joseph Arbuckle was born on 2 August 1908 at 392 Coventry Street in South Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, the son of Annie Gibbins (Ricketts) Arbuckle and Samuel Arbuckle.^[1]

He married Gladys May Arney on 19 April 1930 at St Lukes Church in South Melbourne.^[2] Their son was:^{[citation needed]}

Henry died on 1 November 1956 at the Repatriation General Hospital in Heidelberg, Victoria, aged 48 years.^[3] At the time of his death, Henry was living at 89 Liston Avenue, Keon Park, Melbourne.^{[citation needed]}
